Boyce handed Bremen chance 9/1/2010 - 10:16:32 AM ![]() Northern Ireland Under-21 star Liam Boyce has joined German outfit Werder Bremen on a two-year-deal. The 19-year-old striker has moved from Cliftonville for an undisclosed fee and will begin his Bundesliga career in Bremen’s Under-23 squad. “This is a dream for me,” said Boyce. “I always wanted to play at a big club in Europe.” Boyce featured in 36 games for Cliftonville in Northern Ireland’s Carling Premiership last season, scoring 17 goals. Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor said: “Disappointed as we are to lose a player of Liam’s calibre, we are delighted that he has been able to realise his dream of full-time football. “We are pleased, too, that the terms of the transfer are good for Cliftonville FC and naturally wish Liam the very best of luck in his future career.” |
