'X Factor' hopefuls brawl backstage

Two female hopefuls came to blows on ‘The X Factor’ last night.

Singers Abbey Johnston and Lisa Parker – performing under the name Ablisa – had to be separated backstage after Abbey hit her friend in the face for being rude to one of the judging panel.

The pair had come onstage to face the judges – Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and guest judge Natalie Imbruglia – in Birmingham, and tensions ran high from the offset as Lisa embarrassed her friend by telling the panel she fancied Louis.

She said: “Abbey thinks he's fit - even though you're old.”

Abbey, 18, then stormed offstage as the crowd began to boo, and Lisa, 17, told them to “shut up”.

When they returned they performed an off key version of Shayne Ward's song ‘That's My Goal’. As the crowd booed their attempt, Lisa told the judges she “didn’t care” what they thought of her singing.

Simon responded: “Can I be honest with you? You two have the worst attitude of any contestants I have ever met. Seriously, seriously rude.”

Lisa continued to argue, and when told her singing wasn’t great by Natalie, she rudely remarked: “Who are you, may I ask?” This outburst caused Abbey to storm offstage again, hitting Lisa in the face as she left.

Backstage, after they were separated, show host Dermot O'Leary reprimanded Abbey for her actions, and she told him she was upset Lisa had been rude to Natalie, adding: “It's the last time I ever do anything for her again.”

Last night’s show also saw Scottish born singer Storm Lee, who had traveled from Los Angeles for his audition and French twins Twem, who tackled a version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Just Dance’.
